Just thought I would pass on some information I found out recently about Landlords Insurance.
If you have a Landlords Insurance policy that was organised through a property manager, the policy is no longer valid if the property management arrangement is cancelled or transferred to another agent.
I recently changed PMs on a property and I wasn't made aware of this by either the previous or new PM, though it was printed on the back page of the Certificate of Insurance.
I called the insurance broker and there were absolutely no ifs, buts or maybes. YOU WILL HAVE TO CANCEL THE POLICY was the reply.
If not for reviewing some paper work I would not have been aware I wasn't covered.
It does pay to read and remember some of the small print
Regards,
Chris.
