Usb Hdtv

Hi all

I’m considering buying a USB HDTV tuner for my laptop. Does anyone have any experience with these? Anybody know of a review list of these items?

There are a number of these items for sale on Ebay, with sold prices ranging from $55-$100. What are the good quality items and what should I steer clear of?

Sorry, I don't have an answer, but would be interested in knowing what a USB HDTV tuner is? Would this enable TV shows to be viewed on your laptop, turning it into a TV??

USB ones are terrible compared to PCI or PCMCIA Cards (not as good picture quality and poor quality). Don't waste your time with them, spend the extra and get PCI one or PCMCIA one if you have a notebook.

Yes, they allow you to watch TV on your PC.. The good ones work fantastic!

My experience is that you practically need a regular TV antenna to get good reception. I couldn't get decent reception with one of those desk antennas. Just something to keep in mind - do you have a TV connection in your computer room?
