As an idea from something I read recently, behold, the composite Somersoft member emerges: poll summary
Random tips for a successful poll:
1) avoid bias - especially multiple choice bias
2) ensure everyone can answer
3) ensure a similar poll hasn't been recently posted
4) start thread title with the term "poll"
5) quickly edit any typos/omissions.
6) if you left off some needed choices delete the entire thread and start over
7) completely define how to handle exceptions or special cases in the thread text
8) (usually) avoid ?yes/no? polling questions
9) include entire range (0-100% in 4-5 chunks, or have a ?more than X? or ?less than Y? option)
10) let the poll run its natural course. only post replies to asked questions, or to taunt anti-poll replies!
