Sth Gippsland (Vic) Coast Potential - Port Albert

My folks live in Yarram, so we frequent Port Albert a lot. Actually going there over Christmas.

To me it looks like the next Metung ie lots of development, and retirees paradise.

The port itself is excellent, with plenty of reasonably protected waters.
Fishing is excellent, only 2.5 hours from Melbourne.
Weather not quite as warm as areas further north.
Yarram has a good hospital, theatre, etc.

There has been talk of development of the whole port area, including canals.

There a a lot of houses in Yarram for sale between $150K and $180K. Not sure on rental prospects. Will check it out.

I have a gut feeling that in 10 years time I will look back with regret that I wasn't buying up.

Anyone have an opinion?
