I found this comment by Greg Lee in the AFr highly amusing:
"Peter Costello's assertion that the onus is on potential Reserve Bank of Australia appointees to give an undertaking as to their fitness for appointment vis-a-vis their financial dealings smacks of Sir Desmond Glazebrook's method in Yes, Minister for identifying and dealing with possible wrongdoing in the City of London finance district: "A chap takes a chap to lunch at his club and asks a chap straight out if there's anything a chap should be aware of. A chap would then take a chap at his word".
I remember this episode well, and the bumbling Sir Desmond.
"Very courageous decision Minister. Very courageous."
Where are the current versions of this very clever comedy?
"The Office" comes close.
