Old houses and council approvals

Have you phoned the council and asked the planning people, last time I did this they had a look on Google Earth or some other ariel photo's and commented on how much covered area there was on the property, so they should have a good idea of the size of the structures on the block, it just depends on what has been done under the roof.

Spoke to a building designer about some changes to a house and he commented that the council doesn't care what you do under the roof, once the house footprint is approved you can move walls and change rooms as much as you like.

So first port of call is phone the council and have a chat.

cheers

After talking to the gents in the council planning/building department it seems this is what they need;
Plans of the house
inspection / certification of the electrics

Wont be too hard to get done, especially as the previous owner had the place completely rewired and forwarded us a copy of the certification form this.
