New medicare levy surcharge rules

Did anyone else receive a letter from ATO recently about Medicare surcharge?

Just got a letter from them yesterday saying that they are changing the way they calculate income for medicare purposes, so now they are going to add back the loss from negative gearing etc and some other changes.

Yeah, i think thats normal. I got one for the Tax Offset that i have been claiming till now but will be ineligible under the new rules

As i already have Private Health Insurance that's why i probably didn't get one for that....
