Buckland Park Virginia SA - Major Project

Oh Dear. The Adelaide Sunday Mail this morning has run a large story about Buckland Park Virginia and flood concerns. Lots of words like Calamity and 2billion dollar town WILL FLOOD. Lots of hand wringing and shaking of heads about how bad reports on flood and flow volumes could have happened.

Sounds very very serious but could also be a beat up by the media

Would be scaring the pants of developers or early investors.

Take care anyone who is looking in this area and make sure you talk to the council about this latest worry

The Virginia area is a natural flood plain - that's why the soil is so good for market gardens. The area floods fairly regularly.

I'd be concerned about any major development in the area ... not saying it couldn't work ... I'd just want to look very carefully at the flood maps and their risk mitigations strategies before I invested. I'd also want to make sure I could get insurance !!!!!!!!!!

valid concern.... It was only 2 years ago I remember driving along the main road all I could see off the sides was the tops of the vineyard poles.
