I've been on hold for 12 minutes just to get the Council reception to pick up so that I can ask to be transferred to head of Planning.
On hold now for 40 mins listening to Muzak and a voice telling me council hours are 8 am to 5 pm ...... Well it's now 9:15
Ok live person has picked up and head of planning is not in yet. Left a message for him to call me back.
Any news? What a joke that they do it all behind closed doors and then nobody can tell you the outcome. Any one of the planners would be able to tell you as they all get notified of the Council outcomes the following morning.
No call back - I'm flying out of the country at 8am so I can't find out anymore.

Unofficially I lost the vote again - though this time it wasn't unanimously.

I'm having a pity party then I'll pick myself up in the morning, jump on a plane, have a good think about it and work out a plan of attack for the mediation which is already booked for next week.

the unofficial word is that "some councillors still thought it was a third floor".
well, yes - it is meant to be a third floor but reducing the bulk from the street.
when that comes out in mediation, i think the sheet will hit the fan.
if the councillors don't even undertsand what they're voting on then that's just inept, in my opinion.

Okay, even the Councillor's planner recommended it for approval.
You can go and scare them by saying you are my lawyer.
It astounds me that the Council's own Town Planners recommend it - they go against it, they employ an Independant Town Planner who also recommends it - they ignore it.
But they must know better - sigh.

Well it would help if the Councillors who voted no actually turned up to mediation. They are being heavily encouraged to attend this time so that actual mediation can take place. Otherwise it's just mediation between their town planner who has recommended it be approved and us.
