    Tv - Show Renovators #2

So taking out all of the bonus prizes, then all of the transaction costs like stamp duty, legal and agent fees. All of the house would have lost some serious money. Obvisiouly the strategy was to make a tv show not a profit. 20% of purchase price must have been a over capitalization for all...

    Australian Property Bubble WIKI

I think two important factors are the home ownership % and the mix of house types change as housing in Australia becomes less affordable. I think Australian property prices can hold up simply with these factors changing. Below is a chart showing ABS data showing proportion of renters versus...

Was 3200 for All Ords the bottom?

Was 3200 for the All Ords the bottom? Don't think so. The dow was down 4.2% last night to break a 12 year low. The futures on the all ords are pointing to 3125 at open today. Could this take us to the next support at 2800?

    A horror share story

Yep, they did Macquarie has underwritten capital payments due to be paid over the next two years by holders of partly-paid securities in BrisConnections. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24666522-664,00.html

    A horror share story

Well Macquarie have under written it, so they will have to cough up the dough, unless they can get it from the mum and dad investors. No winners here.

    A horror share story

That's one of the big unknown questions, what would the negative price be?

    A horror share story

There are a lot of questions about this. In some ways it could be considered that the shares cost $3 but only $1 has been paid off, so the shares are sitting at $2.01 (0.01 + $2 to be paid). A 33% fall from listing price when the market has fallen 50% and highly leveraged companies even harder...

Effect of new VIC transport plan ...

Not that I work for the government but...the extra lanes on the Westgate are created by getting rid of emergency lanes and reducing the widths of the lanes. But as part of the project they put in a system of traffic lights above each lane. In case of an accident or breakdown, the lights come...

    Petrol prices and interest rates

I'm no expert on all this but, the prices per barrell is only part of the equation, there are taxes (unchanged), shipping costs (increasing) and petrol station/distributors margins (increasing). The chart below details some of it, the gap between the gate price (TGP) and retail is the how much...

When will the All Ords hit 5000?

Sunfish, I take your point. The prediction was a bit of a through away line. It was based on nothing more than a cursory look over a chart of 100 years history of all ords. But I was more interested in this thread as a time capsule. It details the strong bull run of late 2005- late 2007...

When will the All Ords hit 5000?

Interesting thread this one, and a very long one dating back to 2006, calling for predictions when the all ords will hit 5000. Anyone what to have a crack at this one again. Currently sitting at 3619, the all ords at 5000 would be a 38% gain. My tip for what it's worth Oct-2010.
