So you think its a good time to buy given your statements. DO you have a price range, a preferred property type? DO you have a PPOR?

    Perth thoughts.....?

Just my 2 bobs worth about north orientation. I am home all the time. WHen I built my PPOR I did so specifically to get north light. Unfortuantely I did not get all the solar passive feature I wanted (including eaves not right size) due to my limitations at the time. Must say that today...

    Underfloor heating

I think Perth gets cold but then i have a medical condition that shuts down peripheral circulation, i need to replace the carpet due to allergies. Maybe if a tile broke i would leave to save the heating. anyone got costings?

    Underfloor heating

Has anyone in Perth put in a large area of underfloor heating? I am wondering how expensive it is to put under tiles and if its worth the install and running costs. I am thinking of doing 70sqm under ceramic or porcelain tile.

New battery flat after 8 days sittng

I have same problem. FOr health reasons I don't drive often. Just had a new battery in and had a charger attached to it so that I can plug into charge when I am not using it. Not sure how this will go. Have spent a lot on batteries. My father got me a great battery that seemed to last longer...

WA - construction techniques will have to change.

I remember when we moved into our Italian built home in the 60s after having lived in asbestos or weatherboard up till then. It was heaven for us as a family of 7 even though it only had 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. When I went to build my current PPOR I built brick and iron roof (roof mandated...

    canvas blinds or tinted windows

I am wondering same thing....this time of year I get a lot of heat through North facing French door. Love the sun in the winter though. I need something that is easy to adjust and gives visibility. My eaves are just not quite big enough to cover Feb through March but rest of year is fine.

    Landscaping PPOR

Thanks Lizzie and C-mac. The local council will allow verge planting and actually encourages it. I like mass plantings. The original garden had a lot of natives partly funded by council. I was thinking of raised bed as a feature to contain the tree. Soil is very poor. Thought could build...

    Landscaping PPOR

Its about 35 sq metres. neighbours have put articial lawn on their verges, except for one who has...

    Landscaping PPOR

My front yard (which is tiny and half council verge is in desperate need of a makeover. Although I am not intending to sell, given health concerns it may be a possibility so I want something that will add value as well as be easy care for now. House value is somewhere 800-850. Any ideas on...

There are some older well built homes that would be better value IMHO.

to renovate or to sell or do nothing?

More Options Rent what you need right now and rent out the property for 2-3 years. Neighbours may change their minds once construction starts.

Perth - Looking for an area to invest/develop

Hamilton Hill is an option worth considering.

    South Fremantle

that's interesting....it seems this particular development is getting some investor interest. So in general, I gather, you don't think Fremantle has good investment potential?

    South Fremantle

I take your point. The main reason I am considering is that it is very hard to get apartments in this area, especially small developments. There are a few other unique features. There is not much land available in the area, so I doubt that there will be more built and there are only 20 available.

    South Fremantle

http://reiwa.com.au/wa/South-Fremantle/6162/ There are very few apartments in South Fremantle (a lot in North Coogee). These are a bit different....close walk to shops public transport pubs and restaurants. My only concern is that the North Coogee buildings might flood the market and drag...
