Gladstone Builder
I haven't posted in years but get sick of the rediculous prices tradies charge here in Gladstone.
Give Fred Owers a call (0419663327) he is an older style builder that helped me do a minor reno at a very fair price. The bonus is that he does really good work.

Has anyone ever repaired an old galvanised hills hoist clothes line?
This one sits about 150mm from the bottom of its travel. The winding handle goes around freely without engaging.
Is it worth checking with Hills industries to repair it?

Did anyone read the front page of saturday's Courier Mail (15/01/2005) about land tax?
The threshhold was raised from 150k to 170k for companies and 200k to 220k for individuals.

Searching the forum came up with a website: www.osr.qld.gov.au...
My soon to be ex accountant recommended that I Do NOT set up a trust to hold assets. He didn't know anything about hybrid trusts.
I also checked with a solicitor and he also had not heard of hybrid trusts.
Having read both books I think they are both a "must read" for serious investors...
