So my glorious hair is driving me nuts. Always in my face unless I bind it up. I look after it like the slob I am. My weekly comb brings tears to my eyes.

So thought of cutting but but am aware that may be a crime against humanity.

Maybe dreads? If I hate them I can cut it so nothing lost.

Now I don't work or care what people think so that isn't an issue.

Yes or no?

Wouldn't worry about even brushing it once a week. got a few mates who don't wash or brush their hair and the dreads form on their own haha

Middle aged white blokes with dreadlocks? Might be okay on the high seas, but possibly a bit naff walking around Newcastle. Get the scissors out, Simon. It will grow back.

I've been doing my own haircuts for the last twenty years with the same WAHL clipper set for half an inch. It's neat, there's no combing, no having to go get a haircut, quick wash and dry and it's done. Great for swimming / exercise etc. Works for me!

By the way, that reminds me - it's probably time I got the blades sharpened...

Anyone over the age of 30 with dreads just looks a bit sad in my opinion. Trying to recapture their youth, yada, yada, yada.

I have a 55 year old brother with grey dreads. It suits him because he is a (rhymes with spanker) anyway.

Cut it off and buy a hat :).

Spend $20 on a pair of clippers and do it yourself every 2 weeks with a #2.
- low maintenance haircut
- use less shampoo
- dries quickly after diving/swimming
- save a lot of money
- people will take you more seriously over dreadlocks
- if you sweat a lot this haircut is ideal

Even better. Shave it all off.

Works for me - #3 comb in my case. Wahl clipper set was $40 at Costco. That's a 300% return - beats any IP!

Somersoft is probably most most white bread folks I know.

Whatever the poll says - I'm doing the opposite :)
I dread the outcome

PS. If you do grow dreadlocks, I'd be very wary of going to Cuba again. But then again, you already are wary.

Personally I think dreadlock looks unclean & unhygienic. I could never take anyone seriously with dreadlocks.

If you buy clippers, it's quick & easy to do and your hair will never look dirty.
