4m storage requirement

just want to know if councils will accept attic storage as part of the 4m storage requirement here in WA.

something like this? and if anyone has done it.... roughly how much is the cost.

From memory this requirement is for units to have 4 sqm storage space that's accessible from outside the property, would need to check exactly how it's worded but I think they basically want units to have somewhere to store gardening equipment etc..

I've designed units before that had a bigger than average garage and I shaded a 4 sqm strip down the side and along the back that I called storage space and this was accepted.

You can always write a letter to justify not meeting this requirement by explaining why the property doesn't need this as it has extra space in the attic.. is there anything else you could add like a large linen cupboard in the house or large garage that has extra space for storage?

That's a great idea, if you had an external door from the office outside I don't see why you couldn't call that a store. Then once it's built it could be used as an office..

no it was some years back, all long since sold and marketing material gone.

You would probably want to make it >4m2 else it would be too small for an office. I would assume 6-7m2 would be good.

agreed needs to be >4m2. basically a narrow room with a desk height bench would do it

I have been told before I could allocate part of my existing house as a store room. Laundry I guess?
